Nina's Graduation

This week Nina passed a momentous milestone in her life- she finally graduated from Pre-Kindergarten!  It has been a grueling year of hard work for her.  She had to get her hair combed every day.  She had to carry a backpack half as big as she was all the way to the car, and back, in sun, rain, hail, and even a few scattered snowflakes.  She spent hour upon hour cutting, pasting, coloring, listening to stories, singing and playing.  And that's not even counting all the after school hours put in at all the birthday parties of fellow classmates.  And she loved every minute of it.

The graduation ceremony itself  was very lovely, except for Dave constantly quoting under his breath the line from the Incredibles,* which he claims did not refer in any way to our current situation, however.  Nina did a wonderful job singing in the program.  She was right in the front and performed with gusto.

She had an absolutely wonderful teacher, Mrs. Lawrence, who had put up with Grant in her Kindergarten class last year.  Ever notice how the kindergarten and pre-k teachers are either super young or very old?  I think they each only work about 5 years, but the job causes severe premature aging.  Those that work any longer than 5 years usually turn to dust.

We loved celebrating Nina for an evening.  She is such a smart, funny and amazing little squirt!

 Go class of 2022!

Wow Nina, Congratulations on your graduation!!! You look so cute in your hat.
I didn't know that about kindergarten teachers. It's a good thing I didn't teach school so I wouldn't get so old. I did help a lot in classrooms, but I think doing puppet shows helps people stay young.
