Christkindlmarkt

We had such fun going to Christkindlmarkt today! We went to the annual event put on by the German-American Society of Tulsa (Oklahoma) which is a traditional market in German towns with craftspeople selling Christmas things, ornaments, etc. St. Nicholas and the Christkindl also roam the market. It takes place on St. Nicholas' day which is already a fun day for our family. On that day we leave out a shoe each for St. Nicholas to (hopefully) put some treats in.

In the morning we did have some treats and after Dad, Grant and Nina attended the Home Depot Kids' Workshop we piled into the van and set off for Tulsa which is about an hour and a half away. Nina unfortunately didn't make it to Tulsa without getting sick and losing all those treats she had. But she recovered and we enjoyed the market, the puppet show, the kids' play room, and the great German food- schnitzel, bratwurst and sauerkraut, apple strudel, and stollen which was my favorite. It's kind of a fruitcake I'm guessing.
